Thanks for your time for this viewing. Got ton of Facebook tenant/cohouser messages flooding in? This is a quick overview sheet of me, to help guide our viewing in the most productive way, and serves as an impression-recap if you need. Some texts are clickable - If you have any questions about me as a person/logistics post-viewing, feel free to text and let me know :)

Status & Lifestyle

  • Single (I will be a single occupant)

  • I don't have a partner or kids

  • I don't own pets (I am cat-friendly; we have a community cat "Fidel" around)

  • I do not smoke

  • I don't do drugs

  • I don't drink alcohol in the flat/house, though happy to grab a pint down the pub

  • I eat everything (omnivore), have no allergies, but very respectful of other people's dietary habits/restrictions

  • My nature: Easy-going, respectful, tidy, communicative, responsive, healthy lifestyle, drama-free

  • Full-time working professional: Electronics and Photonics Engineer, passionate about advancing technology and enriching human lives.

  • Resident in Ghent for 2.5 years, independent, and have established a network of friends.

Work Patterns & WFH

  • Researcher in the field of electronics and photonics engineering, driven by curiosity and innovation.

  • Usually work in the office; if WFH, it’s less than two days a week.

  • When I WFH, I get up around 08:40 a.m.; when I commute to the office, I get up around 08:30 a.m.

  • Typical bedtime: 23:45 (very sound sleeper, luckily).

  • If/During work meetings, I always put on my headphones & stay in my own room, ensuring a homey environment for all.

Hobbies & Socials

  • Searching for fun places in Ghent: Farmer's Market (Boerenmarkt), Bookstores, Cafes, Public Science/Research Lectures...

  • I enjoy workout a lot! I have a good massage gun and massage pillow and love relaxing with them on the weekends.

  • I typically hit the gym 3 times a week, and my weekend time is divided into: quality sleep with chilled nights in, reading/writing, and out-of-home socials.

  • I’ve played the saxophone since a young age and enjoy creative projects like electronics crafting and coding.

  • I also enjoy traveling, photographing, vlogging, and learning languages (currently focusing on Dutch).

  • I am a technology enthusiast who frequently uses tools like coding, vacuum robots and smart home devices to simplify tasks, ensuring my living spaces remain well-maintained, tidy, and organized with minimal effort.

Defining Home & Flat/House-sharing Relationship

  • Home to me is about resting and recharging, is about co-creating, contributing to making it homey. Looking to stay and care for this space and call it home.

  • Length of the stay: I am planning for a long-term stay (2 years minimum) in Ghent, with the possibility to extend.

  • I've been in renting / flat-sharing, with 3+ years of responsibility, "well-trained" in rota-responsibilities, up-keeping and am with a "clean-as-you-go" mindset.

  • I enjoy cooking and maintaining a tidy kitchen, contributing to a warm and welcoming shared environment.

  • I am respectful of existing / established rules / culture you have.

  • I am friendly, sociable, open; also respect people's space and value my own time.
