This recipe is designed to serve one, but you can easily scale it up for more people. The most important part is to find all the ingredients, which can be found in most supermarkets or specialty stores.

Ingredients

  • Sausages (2-3): Traditional British pork sausages are ideal.

    • AH Braadworst (4 stuks)

  • Back Bacon (2-3 rashers): Streaky bacon can also be used, but back bacon is more common in a Full English.

    • AH Gerookt ontbijtspek (plakjes or stukje)

  • Eggs (1-2): Fried, scrambled, or poached, depending on preference. Fried is most common.

  • Baked Beans (1/2 to 1 can): Canned baked beans in tomato sauce (like Heinz).

    • Heinz Beanz (415g can)

  • Mushrooms (Handful): Button or chestnut mushrooms, sliced or whole.

    • AH Witte champignons

  • Tomatoes (1-2): Large tomatoes, halved.

  • Black Pudding (1-2 slices): Optional, but a traditional component.

    • AH Zwarte pensen (or similar "Bloedworst" if available)

  • Hash Browns (1-2): Frozen hash browns are convenient.

    • AH Rösti rondjes

  • Toast (1-2 slices): White or brown bread, buttered.

    • Tijger Wit brood (or any preferred bread)

  • Cooking Oil or Fat: For frying (vegetable oil, sunflower oil, or even bacon fat).

  • Salt and Pepper: To taste.


Instructions

  1. Start the Baked Beans:

    • Open your can of baked beans and pour the desired amount into a small saucepan.

    • Heat gently over low to medium heat, stirring occasionally, until heated through. Keep warm.

  2. Cook Sausages and Bacon:

    • Heat a large frying pan or griddle over medium heat. Add a little oil if necessary (though bacon will render its own fat).

    • Place the sausages in the pan and cook for 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.

    • Once the sausages are nearly done, add the bacon rashers to the same pan. Cook for 2-4 minutes per side, or until crispy to your liking.

    • Once cooked, remove the sausages and bacon and keep them warm (e.g., on a plate covered with foil).

  3. Cook Mushrooms and Tomatoes:

    • In the same frying pan (you can use some of the leftover bacon/sausage fat for flavor), add the sliced mushrooms. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened and lightly browned. Season with salt and pepper.

    • Add the halved tomatoes to the pan, cut-side down. Cook for 3-5 minutes, until slightly softened and caramelized.

    • Remove and keep warm with the other cooked items.

  4. Prepare Hash Browns and Black Pudding (if using):

    • Follow the package instructions for your hash browns. They can be fried in the pan, baked in an oven, or air-fried until golden and crispy.

    • If using black pudding, slice it into rounds (about 1/2 inch thick). Fry in a hot pan (you might need a tiny bit more oil) for 2-3 minutes per side until heated through and slightly crispy.

  5. Fry the Eggs:

    • While the other components are finishing up, add a bit more oil to the frying pan (or use a separate non-stick pan).

    • Crack the eggs directly into the hot pan. Cook for 2-4 minutes, or until the whites are set and the yolk is cooked to your preference (runny, soft, or hard). Season with salt and pepper.

  6. Make the Toast:

    • Toast your bread to your desired crispness. Butter immediately.

  7. Assemble and Serve:

    • On a large plate, arrange all the cooked components: sausages, bacon, fried egg(s), baked beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, black pudding (if using), hash brown(s), and toast.

    • Serve hot and enjoy!
